Annual Snow Show - some history.....

The Vernon Snowmobile Association and the Lumby/Mabel Lake Snowmobile Association have, for many years, organized and co-hosted Vernon’s annual Snow Show.

Snowmobile enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the Snow  Show, which has evolved into a social event that the whole family can enjoy, and so is well attended.

The show's origin was modest......it began in a club director's rec room, many years ago, in order to facilitate easy renewal of club memberships.  It's grown exponentially over the years and in venues such as the Village Green Hotel and the Best Western Hotel Vernon Lodge with several hundred people coming through the doors for the one evening event.  The shows in 2008 and 2009 were manufacturers' shows and were hosted by the BCSF and saw several thousand people attend the weekend events at the Vernon Rec Centre (2008) and the Wesbild Centre (2009).  During those years, the VSA and the L/ML clubs took a backseat to the main event, with our participation being that of  hosting a beer garden ("Highmark Pub") and a silent auction in 2008, and a silent auction alone in 2009.

It was discovered, however, that BC sled enthusiastists are happier with the "rec room" feel of a local show, over that of a manufacturers' show, and we're happy to have it back in our hands at a local level.

As in last year, our Highmark Pub will be there to whet your whistles (please..no drinking and driving), plus grab a burger from the BBQ, buy some 50/50 tickets, renew/purchase your snowmobile memberships and insurance and....of course!...come see what the dealers and many other enthusiastic vendors have to offer for the upcoming winter season.
